Shelters Exit Workflow

This article is designed to help guide HMIS users through the basics of exiting clients from their projects using the Shelters module of Wellsky Community Services.  This article has been written to generalize the process used by shelter projects utilizing any assessment type (HUD, Standard, RHY).  Assessment type is determined by FUNDING SOURCE. It is important to know that there will be some nuances to overall data entry based on project type and assessment type.  For additional assistance beyond this workflow article, please contact the ICA Missouri Helpdesk.

Shelters Exit

View Shelter Inventory

  1. Set you Enter Data As provider to the appropriate shelter project
  2. Select the correct Unit List and click Submit
  3. Click View All

Client Record

Entry/Exit

  1. Click on the head of household's name
  2. Click on the Entry/Exit tab
  3. Click pencil icon next to the Exit Date Column
  4. Complete Exit Data
      1. If there is more than one client exiting, check the box next to each additional household member that is exiting the project.
      2. Confirm the Exit Date 
      3. Select Reason for Leaving
      4. Select Destination 
      5. Click Save & Continue
  5. Complete ALL assessments that appear  for all household members.
  6. Click Save & Exit once all assessments for all household members have been completed.
  7. Click Save & Exit to close the client record pop-out box

Client Check-Out

  1. Find the head of household on the bed list and click Check Out button (bed with red minus sign)

  2. Set the Exit Date to date and time of exit from shelter
  3. Mark all household members exiting the shelter

  4. Click Save & Exit
